MANAGEMENT PLAN
Access
The provision of additional access points (such as from
the Oban Street area of Highland Park) along with well
located and desi gned signs would assist in encouraging
use. Motor vehicles (except as provided in Recreation
and Public Use Policy 5.), trail bikes, mountain bikes
and bicycles are not permitted in the park. The restriction
against mountain bikes is consistent with Council's Mountain
Bike Policy. Service vehicles for the maintenance of the
park and utility services will be permitted from time
to time.
Policies
Additional pedestrian access into the park from Oban
Street in Highland Park, Crofton Downs and Wadestown shall
be investigated.
Access and off-street car parking within the land currently
occupied by the "plastics factory" shall be
investigated.
Promote the provision of car parking for visitors at the
Ngaio Gorge entrance and along Trelissick Crescent.
Private vehicles (except as allowed in Recreation and
Public Use Policy 5.), and including all types of motorised
bikes, mountain bikes, and other bicycles and horses shall
not be permitted in the park.
